Picturing the Streets of Old Charlotte

Program Description:

Lawyer-historian, David Erdman, has assembled over 500 images of the Trade and Tryon Streets of old, 75 to 125 years ago.

He shows those images in a projected presentation, with Charlotte’s buildings of yester-year sequenced in street-address order.

This show offers the viewer a fascinating experience that is like walking down the streets of Old Charlotte nearly a century ago.
David has been featured in many articles for his professional and community accomplishments. On July 12, 2009, the Charlotte Observer published an article about David's history lectures.

The New Bern Sun Journal newspaper published David's article "When Sailboats returned to the Neuse River" about the enduring legacy of sailing bequeathed to New Bern by David's father, Dr. Lawrence Erdman.
